Golfers invited to tee-off to help boost our funds

We hope our charity golf day in Bewdley will be a high-scoring fundraiser for us.

A maximum of 20 teams of four will tee-off for top spot on the fairway at Bewdley Pines Golf Club on Thursday April 20.

The 18-hole full handicap Stableford competition has already attracted 12 teams from local organisations and businesses.

Event organiser, our chief officer Beverley Coldrick, said: “We’ve run golf days before and they have always been very successful, great competition and great fun.

“We are a small local charity providing transport to support independent living with our amazing band of volunteer drivers. We rely heavily on grants and fundraising to maintain and develop our services so hope our golf day will be above par.”

Competitors will be offered bacon rolls on arrival and a two-course meal afterwards with good local beers on tap in the clubhouse.

The event, from 2pm, will include a raffle and auction, with prizes including tickets for Worcestershire County Cricket, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, free rounds at Bewdley Pines and Ombersley Golf Clubs and a meal for two at Kidderminster’s Sher-E-Punjab, along with team prizes and course competitions.

Businesses including Cook’s Garden Centre, Concept Furniture, Veldonn Printers, OJ Matthews Builders and Johnson’s Coaches are sponsoring holes and Beverley is inviting other organisations to offer sponsorship.

The entry fee is £180 per team and for more details and entry forms, call 01299 405832 or email admin@ctwyre.org.uk
